In the primary election on May 20, voters will decide which Republican candidate for the Pennsylvania Commonwealth Court will run in the general election in November. The Pennsylvania Commonwealth Court is a unique court and the only one like it in the country! It sits as both an appellate AND trial court. In its appellate capacity, the Court hears appeals from Commonwealth agency decisions but also sits as a trial court in civil actions brought against a Commonwealth agency or one of its officers. In the cases before it, one of the Court’s roles is to ensure that Commonwealth agencies comply with their regulatory and statutory authority and not overreach, a very important function.

One Republican candidate for Commonwealth Court is Josh Prince, a Berks County attorney in private practice. Josh is the right candidate to fill the vacancy on the Court for several reasons. First, he has litigated extensively before the Court so he is well-versed in the complex legal issues it routinely hears. Next, Josh’s courtroom approach is rooted in strict adherence to the law as written and the Constitution as intended by the Founding Fathers. Finally, Josh’s principled stance on application of the law and the Constitution will keep politics out of the courtroom—-something that is very much needed to restore public confidence in our judicial system.

On May 20, please join me in voting for Josh Prince, Republican candidate for the Pennsylvania Commonwealth Court.
